What to do in a Dental Emergency?

Dental emergencies can take many forms. It could be a tooth ache, broken dental wires, a chipped or dislodged tooth, or unusual gum pain.

If you are bleeding, use a cool dry cloth and apply pressure. This will help stop or slow the bleeding.

If you have a knocked out tooth, try to collect the tooth and put it in a small container of milk (or your own saliva). Doing so gives you the best chances of successfully restoring your natural tooth.

If you have experienced severe trauma, such as bodily injury, unconsciousness, or non-dental related pain than go to the hospital immediately. Oak Street Dental is not equipped to handle severe trauma. Call 9-1-1 in Canada for life or death emergency medical attention.
